OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission at St. James' is to offer a safe, nurturing, Christian environment. Qualified teachers will provide a developmentally appropriate early childhood program.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
St. James' Preschool is based on the philosophy that children are best served in an environment that stimulates and encourages creative and developmental growth appropriate to each child's individual needs.
OUR PROGRAM
Our program provides experiences that enrich and enhance each child's cognitive, language, social, emotional, physical, and creative development.
OUR STAFF
Our qualified staff will serve as positive role models and provide care that is supportive,
nurturing, warm, and responsive to each child's individual needs. We offer a loving environment with low student/staff ratio. Classes usually consist of 12 student, one lead teacher, and one assistant.
Daily Activities
Within our daily schedule, each child will have opportunities to create, explore the environment, learn problem solving and personal interaction skills, and learn concepts through first-hand experiences.
Each day children will interact through:
- Large and small group activities
- Interest centers
- Unit studies
- Whole language experiences
- Art
- Music
- Structured and unstructured creative movement/play
In addition to these daily activitie, students will participate weekly in special areas such as Spanish, Music, and Chapel time.
Readiness Skills and Development
Our goal is to provide for each child the following basic readiness skills on a developmentally appropriate level.
- Self-Help Skills
- Fine Motor Skills
- Large Motor Skills
- Math Skills
- Language Skills
- Social/Personal Development
We will accomplish these skills through hands-on activities that include the following interest areas:
- Blocks
- Creative art
- Dramatic play
- Sensory exploration
- Library/quiet area
- Table toys/manipulatives
- Outdoor/large muscle area
General Information
Our school year extends from September through May. We follow Oldham County Public School's calendar, with only a few exceptions.
The official school/curriculum day begins at 9:30 although students may be dropped off for carpool any time after 9 AM. Dismissal is at noon.
We offer the following programs:
- 4 day 4/5 yr olds (M-Th)
- 3 day 3 yr. olds (T, W, Th)
- 2 day 2 yr. olds (T,Th)
must be 2 by Sept 1st
In order to offer a program with low student/staff ratios, space is limited. Enrollment is first opn to present students and St. James' church families. All other children are accepted on a first come, first serve basis beginning Feb. 10th.
Fees
Registration fee:
$75 with application
($125 per family)
Tuition:
2-day 2's - $1035 per year - 3 payment of $345
3-day 3's - $1395 per year - 3 payments of $465
4 day 4/5's - $1800 per year - 3 payments of $600
Tuition is due for each trimester on Aug. 1st, Nov. 1st, and Feb. 1st.
